Job description

Gulf Winds is seeking Local Owner Operators for its Houston, TX location. Gulf Winds serves the container drayage, transloading, and domestic transportation industries and offers CDL-A owner operators consistently high volumes of work. Plus, youll stay close to your starting point, making your runs and home time dependable.

Compensation :

  • Average Weekly Pay : $4,500 + 100% FSC

Fuel surcharge paid off gross (% of load)

  • Bonuses :

    • Sign on bonuses available, amounts change monthly

    • stops may include San Antonio, Dallas, Victoria, TX, Waco, TX, Durant, OK & Seminole, OK

  • Level of Touch : Most freight is drop and hook, minimizing load / unload times and boosting efficiency

    • Equipment Requirement

  • Any year of truck as long as it passes inspection
  • Sleeper or Double Axle Day cab

    • Qualifications

  • Must have a valid CDL A License
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Minimum 1-year verifiable tractor trailer driving experience in the last 10 years
  • TWIC required, HazMat not required but adds additional opportunities
  • No more than three (3) moving violations within the last thirty-six (36) months.
  • No more than two (2) preventable accidents within the last twenty-four (24) months
  • Must be able to pass a FMCSA pre-hire drug screen and have no prior FMCSA positive drug and / or alcohol testing or refusals within the last 10 years
  • Must be able to pass a previous employer and criminal background check. No misdemeanor in the last five (5) years or felony convictions in the last seven (7) years
  • Must live within 60 Miles of Houston, TX

    • As a full-service, third-party logistics provider, our Owner Operators enjoy consistent and steady work as partners with the largest container drayage provider on the Gulf Coast.
