Pacers Running Events is looking for a Senior Manager of Events to join a dynamic and busy team. This candidate will have a flexible schedule with the availability to work nights, weekends and occasionally weekdays (the week leading up to an event) when an event requires, as well as a willingness to work in all kinds of weather. The candidate should have at least 3 years experience in running or public events and experience in managing a team.
Responsibilities
Logistics :
- Oversee all course and event logistics for all races
- Procure proper equipment for each event, and manage / organize load in and load out
- Organize and manage credentials (if needed), radio and vehicle plan for each event
- Organize and manage race weekend build out and breakdown
- Post-Race load out : certify all equipment returns from event and is organized and stored

Racecourse :
Manage event course setupHandle pre-race event course mile mark identification and marking / flagging, ensure course isfree from construction, debris, flooding, etc.Race day mile mark installation / certificationRace day aid station setup, etc.Warehouse :
POST EVENT : Organize and manage warehouseCreate and maintain accurate records of Pacers inventory within warehouse toinclude equipment, signage, store items, race swag, start / finish line equipment, post-race party supplies, etc.Ensure all Pacers equipment is in working orderMarketing :Serve as a liaison to the Pacers Marketing teamObtain new client races for Pacers EventsWork with the Community Marketing Team on community aspects of Pacers RacesManage Event Equipment :
Manage event equipment which includes signage, water stop supplies(cups / rakes / water / pitchers, etc), race swag, start / finish line equipment, post-race partysupplies, fleet vehicles etc.Ensure all Pacers race equipment is in working orderStage and organize race event equipment the week of an event for loud outWork with team race week to ensure all equipment is accounted for and certify load outOrganize and restock race equipment post-race (week after)Inform Race Director in timely manner when inventory is running low and needs replenishingCommunicate all necessary information pertaining to equipment condition with Race DirectorCandidate Requirements :
3-5 years of industry experience- public events / running events is preferredExperience managing people / community eventsExcellent written / verbal communication and time management skillsAbility to work independently and with minimal directionAbility to work under pressure and meet tight timelinesMust be available to work weekendsThorough understanding of event managementAbility to lift at least 60lbsMust have a carMust be flexible with last minute unexpected tasks and assignments (to include deliveries and pick-ups of equipment and materials that need attention)Tactical :Salary : $30 Per HourThis is position is a 1099 contract positionLocation : Must be located in the DMV areaDirect Report : Director, Pacers EventsThere is a three event trial period, before a full offer is extended. The $30 per hour rate will still apply for the trial period.Available shifts and compensation : We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation depends on your experience.
