Position Overview
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Installation Technician serves as the professional, customer-facing representative of the company. This role is responsible for the installation, relocation, and testing of RF shielded enclosures, as well as providing additional lab and engineering support services.
Responsibilities
Assist with the teardown, relocation, and installation of shielded enclosures and test chambers
Establish initial service by reviewing system requirements, ordering and staging components, coordinating installation, and testing functionality and performance
Ensure work complies with company policies, standards, and procedures
Promote a positive customer experience by addressing concerns promptly and providing effective solutions
Maintain tools and equipment by performing routine inspections, troubleshooting malfunctions, and completing inventory and repairs
Document installation and service activities through detailed reports and logs
Maintain confidentiality of customer and company information
Stay current with industry practices by participating in training and educational opportunities
Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma required; some college preferred
1–2 years of construction or furniture installation experience for Entry Level, 3–4 years for Senior Level
Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical specifications, schematics, and blueprints
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with sound judgment under deadlines
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and related software
Professional verbal and written communication skills
Customer-focused with strong relationship-building skills
Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to adapt to change
Experience maintaining tools, parts, and equipment in a service environment
Skilled at preparing and submitting detailed reports
Additional Requirements
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and follow safety practices
Comfortable working in confined, dirty, or noisy spaces
Physically able to climb ladders / scaffolding, lift up to 50 lbs, crawl, squat, push / pull, and stand for long periods
Willingness to travel, work overtime, and weekends as required
Strong technical aptitude with professionalism, self-motivation, and attention to detail under deadlines
Valid driver’s license with clean record; ability to operate a forklift, drive a work van, and pull a trailer
