Accounting Specialist

Location : Columbia, SC (Onsite)

Schedule : Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 AM-5 : 00 PM

Pay : $35,000-$45,000

Overview

A reputable organization in Columbia is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join their team onsite. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting overall accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely
Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and general ledger accounts
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
Prepare and maintain accounting reports, spreadsheets, and documentation
Review invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders for accuracy and compliance
Support audits and provide financial data as requested
Collaborate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracy in reporting

Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

2+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

Strong understanding of GAAP and standard accounting practices

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

High level of accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality
