Job description

We are seeking an experienced EHS Manager to temporarily fill a vacancy due to our current manager's leave of absence (3-5 days per week for several months). This role is crucial for maintaining our commitment to safety and environmental health at our client’s large Memphis warehouse. The EHS Manager will be responsible for overseeing all health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and maintaining our operational standards in line with corporate EHS requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and administer health and safety programs in accordance with company and client requirements.
  • Conduct and coordinate EHS training sessions and emergency response efforts.
  • Perform risk assessments, safety inspections, and root cause analysis for incident investigations.
  • Implement corrective and preventative measures to mitigate risks.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 14001 and 45001 standards and manage ISO audit processes.
  • Facilitate communication and enforcement of safety policies across warehouse, office, and manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS principles into business processes.
  • Represent the facility during EHS audits and interact with regulatory agencies as required.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of EHS experience, preferably in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) are preferred.
  • Expertise in areas such as Machine Guarding, LOTO, Ergonomics, Fire Safety, and Powered Industrial Trucks.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct effective training, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of leading and making decisions in routine and emergency situations.
