ERP Applications Leader (AVP of ERP Applications)
Overview
Our client is seeking a results-oriented, enterprise-minded, and customer-focused leader to shape and unify the ERP applications team. This role will drive the transformation of ERP capabilities into a cohesive, enterprise-aligned function that advances delivery, supports long-term growth, and leverages modern approaches, operational discipline, and strategic insight to align technology with organizational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic & Tactical Leadership
- Lead planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of ERP applications.
- Ensure the ERP applications roadmap supports both current business demands and long-term organizational goals.
- Guide application integration efforts during acquisitions, reducing system complexity and aligning technology across the enterprise.
- Governance & Operations
- Establish and enforce policies, standards, and objectives for ERP applications management.
- Oversee system governance, SLAs, vendor management, and technology standards.
- Proactively manage the ERP portfolio to mitigate risks, address operational issues, and identify opportunities for consolidation or optimization.
- Ensure ERP systems perform reliably, securely, and in compliance with HIPAA, audit readiness, and security standards.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with executives and business leaders to define priorities and ensure technology solutions deliver measurable value.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, connecting business needs with IS&T and enterprise systems.
- Communicate risks, opportunities, and application health to leadership.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing, collaborative teams that value accountability, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.
- Integrate newly acquired resources into the ERP team structure.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to resolve issues and accelerate delivery.
- Financial & Resource Management
- Prepare and manage capital and operating budgets that balance cost-effectiveness with organizational needs.
- Ensure efficient use of resources and provide financial reporting insights.
Technical Competencies
Proven experience with core ERP domains : HCM, Finance, SCM, and Grants in complex enterprise environments.Full lifecycle ERP management : system selection, planning, implementation, optimization, and retirement.Knowledge of cloud-based ERP delivery models , scalability, and cost implications.Strong understanding of data flows, integrations, and enterprise architecture alignment .Familiarity with information security standards, access control, and compliance frameworks .Vendor and third-party partner management, with the ability to hold providers accountable for delivery.Leadership & Soft Skills
Experience leading ERP integration and harmonization efforts post-acquisition .Skilled at managing ambiguity, complexity, and organizational change.Demonstrated success as a mentor and team builder, fostering growth and collaboration.Ability to connect enterprise strategy to actionable plans .Resilient and adaptable under pressure; comfortable shifting priorities as business needs evolve.Confident communicator with executives and senior leaders, capable of building alignment across diverse stakeholders.Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or Healthcare Administration required.Master’s degree preferred.Certifications strongly preferred :PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent.ITIL Foundation or higher-level ITSM credential.Workday Pro or other ERP platform-specific certification.
