Job Brief

Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a Quality Engineer for our client. This role involves developing sampling procedures, inspection methods, and training materials, while ensuring compliance with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and TS16949 standards. Responsibilities include overseeing product testing, analyzing data, improving processes, leading 5S initiatives, and managing discrepant material procedures.

What’s a Typical Day Like?

  • Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Work Independently in establishing programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
  • Work independently in the development and implementation of methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material, and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
  • Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality & reliability.
  • Should be pro-actively involved and initiate activity in the improvement process and promote its use within the facility.
  • Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.
  • Actively participates and lead continuous improvement and 5S activities.
  • Must be fluent in systems such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA’s and QS9000 / TS16949 requirements.
  • Must possess a proficient working knowledge of SPC and MSA.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.

What Are the Requirements of the Job?

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and 4-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Proficiency in quality engineering tools and methods (e.g., geometric dimensioning, statistical analysis, 7 tools of quality).
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to clearly communicate in both written and oral forms with others.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job to perform mechanical inspections include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment varies from moderate to loud.
  • Required to wear additional safety equipment in other areas, which may require medical certification.
