Medical Assistant - Surgery

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our surgical team. This role involves assisting with patient check-in and check-out, managing phone coverage, and supporting physicians during procedures. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our practice, providing excellent care and support to our patients.

Responsibilities :

• Perform patient check-in and check-out procedures.
• Handle phone coverage, including scheduling appointments, addressing clinical questions, and routing calls to the appropriate person.
• Room patients, including taking medical history, medication lists, and vitals, and chaperoning during procedures.
• Scan documents and manage electronic filing.
• Verify insurance and collect insurance referrals.
• Prepare and maintain the schedule.
• Reprocess instruments as needed.
• Place orders and schedule testing.
• Assist with possible surgery-related tasks.

Work Environment :

Our office operates like a small surgical private practice, ensuring a focused and collaborative environment. While we use a hub for pre-certifications and billing, all other tasks are managed in-house, providing a comprehensive and hands-on work experience.

Job Type & Location :

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, Missouri.

Pay and Benefits :

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
