MEP Estimator MEP Estimator

Position Overview

The MEP Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) projects within the commercial and industrial sectors. This role involves analyzing project plans and specifications to provide accurate cost assessments and ensure competitive bidding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review project plans and specifications to understand the scope and requirements.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for MEP systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Conduct material takeoffs and quantity surveys to support cost estimation.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to gather necessary information for estimates.
  • Maintain and update cost databases and pricing models for MEP systems.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather project-related information.
  • Analyze subcontractor bids and assist in the bid selection process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on MEP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems and their installation processes.
  • Familiarity with construction estimating software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills to provide accurate cost assessments.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
