Travel Nursing Job Details

Facility Setting : Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN) contract

Start Date : December 1, 2025

End Date : March 1, 2026

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Hours per Week : 40

Shift : 4 x 10-hour rotating shifts (08 : 00-18 : 30)

On-Call : 1 night call per week

Weekend Requirement : 2 weekends of 12-hour call shifts per month

Floating : Required within surgical services

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1860–$2000

PACU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program

Active New Mexico RN license or Compact state RN license (required for New Mexico nursing jobs)

BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certifications from AHA (required)

Minimum 1 year of PACU or acute care nursing experience

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Ability to float within surgical services as needed

PACU Nurse Responsibilities

Coordinate and deliver patient care tailored to the needs of PACU patients

Perform initial assessments, set priorities, and develop individualized care plans

Monitor and re-assess patients to identify changes requiring intervention

Implement and document nursing interventions promptly

Educate patients and families, and assist with discharge planning

Conduct Point of Care testing procedures

Delegate and coordinate assignments to ensure high-quality patient care

Float within surgical services as required

Foster a positive work environment and collaborate with staff, physicians, and visitors

Maintain compliance with all safety and healthcare policies
