Job description

Position Title : Electrician

FLSA : Non Exempt

Reports To : Supervisor of Maintenance

Beginning : November / December 2025

Terms of Employment : A full contract for this position is 240 days with benefits as specified in employee contract. Contract will be prorated based on actual start date.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 2 - 5 years experience preferred.
  • Master or Journeyman license preferred.
  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Commercial / light industrial preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push / pull a minimum of 20 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders of various heights.

    • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Read and interpret blueprints technical diagrams and electrical schematics to determine the layout and wiring configurations for electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues such as short circuits faulty wiring and malfunctioning equipment. This requires knowledge of electrical systems and the ability to use testing equipment effectively.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance to ensure that electrical systems are functioning properly and comply with safety regulations.
  • Electricians work with high-voltage electrical systems so they must follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. This includes using personal protective equipment securing work areas and implementing proper grounding techniques.
  • Install repair and maintain electrical apparatus.
  • Examine and identify motor problems and have the ability to tear down clean up lubricate reassemble and to replace bearings capacitors starting switches governors and brushes.
  • Assemble install test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring equipment appliances apparatus and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
  • Maintain equipment.
  • Maintains prompt and regular attendance
  • Demonstrates the ability to maintain positive professional working relationships with others
  • Maintains emotional control under stress
  • Abide by state statutes school board policies and regulations
  • Must be able to work independently sometimes with minimal supervision.
  • Attend meetings as scheduled by supervisors and district administration.
  • Must be willing to work overtime or after hours whenever needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
