Director Wellness
We are seeking a Wellness Director to join our community committed to delivering outstanding wellness programming for our community. As a Wellness Director you will play an important role in all phases of daily wellness for our residents, families, staff and community, that meets or exceeds Buckner quality, service, and hospitality standards. What You'll Do :
- Develop, plan, and implement social, recreational, educational, and spiritual wellness programs for residents.
- Motivate and assist residents to participate in all aspects of the wellness program.
- Oversee and facilitate the daily operation of the wellness department.
- Facilitate development, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of wellness programs.
- Conduct wellness orientation programs for all new users of the wellness facilities.
- Facilitate a variety of group mind, body and spirit classes.
- Establish and monitor Aquatics pool program.
- Prepare and promote monthly wellness programs.
- Act as an advocate for health issues pertaining to the community.
- Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of the wellness facility.
- Detect, correct or report situations that have a possibility of causing accidents or injuries.
- Observe and report resident symptoms, reactions and changes.
- Perform all duties in a courteous manner and maintain excellence in customer service.
- Ensure attainment of campus goals through effective utilization of human and financial resources.
- Maintain accurate business records.
- Assist management in strategic planning and direction for campus wellness operations.
- Maintain current proficient working knowledge of licensing requirements.
- Assist in preparing and presenting monthly financial reports.
- Assist to develop wellness policies and procedures.
- Make daily rounds of the wellness center.
- Maintain compliance with all Buckner policies, procedures and requirements.
- Assist, guide and support supervisors with employee selection, review, evaluation and terminations.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, training, educational seminars, Buckner and association meetings, and retreats.
- Develop emerging leadership through professional growth and development.
- Support and represent Buckner at special events, activities and other assigned functions.
- Work successfully as a part of a team.
- Review and process mail and other correspondence daily.
- Perform general office tasks as required.
- Perform special assignments, projects, and other duties as required.
What You'll Bring :
Bachelor's degree in physical education, exercise science, or related field with experience.Proficiency in water safety, CPR, first aide, therapeutic exercise, fitness equipment, aerobics, and instruction.Ability to establish and maintain working relationships.Ability to encourage dignity and self-esteem in residents.Proficiency in basic health care practices and counseling techniques.Ability to plan, promote and direct community service programs.Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.Ability to communicate clearly and make self understood.Ability to recognize differences in sound.Ability to hear and receive verbal instructions.Ability to work under minimal supervision and exercise excellent professional judgment.Ability to relate positively, influentially, and sensitively to a broad spectrum of people.Ability to provide strategic and logistical planning.Ability to travel to various geographic locations.Ability to drive assigned vehicles.Ability to exercise tact and courtesy.Ability to exhibit detail-oriented skills.Ability to supervise others and hold others accountable.Proficiency in computer related tasks.Commitment to Christian principles.Ability to use physical force occasionally and frequently.Ability to walk, stand and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time.Sufficient good health to properly discharge duties.
