Assistant Librarian – Architecture Public Services Librarian Job at Texas Tech U

Overview

The Architecture Public Services Librarian provides oversight and direction for the circulation, reference, and reserve areas at the Architecture Library branch. This position serves as a collaborative member of the Architecture Library Team and the User Centered Services Unit (USCU) in the shared mission to support and enhance students’ use, access, and engagement with the Libraries resources, services, and spaces.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with the Architecture Library team, User-Centered Services Unit and other Libraries departments to support branch operations and services
• Oversee department scheduling for staff and student assistants; serve as a back-up in the absence of the Senior Library Associate
• Oversee reference training of staff and student assistants
• Contribute to the planning and teaching of information literacy modules in support of the College of Architecture program and curriculum
• Maintain and analyze pertinent statistics related to circulation, reference and instructional services
• Contribute to the curation of web content and subject-based online resource tools (LibGuides, handouts, tutorials)
• Serve as the primary contact for the College of Architecture El Paso campus to support access, instruction, and services for distance students and faculty
• Follow and uphold policies and procedures of the Libraries and the University; implement and assess internal policies in conjunction with USCU for the betterment of services
• Serve as one of two Emergency Action Coordinators for the Architecture Library
• Serve on committees and teams as assigned
• The Architecture Public Services Librarian is a member of the Texas Tech University Libraries faculty whose responsibilities include actively pursuing academic publishing, professional development, instruction, and service to the Libraries, University, and community.

The position is a 12-month appointment with a nationally competitive salary.
