Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Ortho position with night shifts, requiring a VA or compact RN license and orthopedic experience.

Responsibilities

Work in the Med / Surg Ortho unit with adults and geriatric patients, including many spine cases

36-bed fast-paced unit with one-day discharge and night shift admissions

Required to float to other Med / Surg / Tele units, including Oncology

Patient ratio is typically 1 : 5-6

Night shifts with every other weekend and major holiday required

Uses Alaris pumps and Hercules beds

Navy and white scrub colors required

Must be willing to float to other Med / Surg / Tele units as assigned

Fast-paced environment with focus on admissions and discharges during night shifts

Pass / fail EKG testing on first day of assignment

Additional documentation may be required prior to start

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Major holiday rotation is required as part of the schedule

Requirements

Active RN license in Virginia or compact state is required

At least 1 year of RN experience required, with orthopedic experience

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Must pass a dysrhythmia (EKG) exam within two attempts; study guide provided

Travel experience not required

Must live at least 50 miles from the facility
