Responsibilities Position is in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting High-volume, high-risk Level 3 Perinatal center with approximately 150 births per month Care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn patients, with a high percentage of complex cases Level 4 NICU support available for complex neonates Two operating rooms on the unit for C-sections and related procedures Patient ratio is 1 : 1 Night shift schedule with options for 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts, weekend shifts required RN may be required to float within the hospital but not to other hospitals EPIC charting system is used; previous experience preferred but not required Primary responsibilities include managing laboring patients, assisting in deliveries, post-partum care, and supporting high-risk and complex cases Second L&D RN serves as ‘baby catcher’ during delivery for well newborns Scrubs are provided for OR personnel; any color scrub may be worn otherwise RTO during orientation week is not permitted; holiday time off is restricted to one major holiday and limited additional days Highly preferred for travelers to be available to work Christmas First-time travelers are accepted Local candidates are accepted at the same rate Required to complete 5-6 hours of non-billable onboarding modules before start, with EPIC training included during orientation Vaccination and compliance must be complete before start Requirements Active WA or compact RN license, or proof of pending licensure BLS and NRP certifications required A minimum of 2 years recent Labor and Delivery experience required; 3 years preferred Experience with high-risk perinatal patients in a teaching or trauma hospital setting is preferred COVID-19 vaccination and booster required Two professional references required, with at least one supervisory reference preferred Prior employment at the specified health system requires an 18-month separation before returning as a traveler Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627818.
