American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele Float Pool position in Missouri, requiring a MO or compact RN license and strong telemetry skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work within a float pool, covering medical, surgical, oncology, renal, neuro, and cardiology units in a short-term acute care settingRequired to float to all medical units as needed, with possible pre-assignment to specific units communicated in advancePatient ratios are 1 : 5-6 for days and weekends, and 1 : 6 for nightsNight shift schedule (3x12 hour shifts, 18 : 45-07 : 15)Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule required, with holiday rotationNo on-call responsibilitiesEPIC charting system is used and experience is requiredSpecial equipment includes lift devices, ceiling lifts, and bladder scanner (training provided)Navy blue scrubs requiredFloat assignments may be inside the hospital or to affiliated nearby hospitals and are communicated prior to shiftRNs in the float pool are required to call in up to one hour before scheduled shift to receive unit assignmentHoliday coverage is expected as part of rotationNo more than 7 days of requested time off (RTO) permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO during the first weekAll standard travelers are eligible to stay up to 18 months, then must take a 3-month breakModules and fit testing required prior to start, with up to 16 hours of pre-start / compliance modules compensatedFree parking available on-sitePermanent staff must wait one year after leaving before returning as a traveler\n \n Requirements\n
Active MO or compact RN license required for considerationMinimum of 2 years' recent RN experienceCertifications required : BCLS and ACLSProficiency with IV starts and telemetry requiredNIHSS certification preferredExperience with EPIC charting system requiredMust reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility; local candidates within 75 miles are not eligibleNo previous permanent employment at this facility within the last yearFirst-time travelers will be considered\n Benefits\n
