We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Traveling Construction Superintendent to lead the execution federal and state construction projects across multiple locations. This role is critical in driving quality, safety, and schedule performance in the field while maintaining strong working relationships with subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and internal teams. As a key leader onsite, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations and ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead and manage all onsite construction activities from preconstruction through project closeout
Develop, maintain, and update detailed short-interval schedules to ensure project milestones are achieved
Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, subcontractor activities, and workforce allocation
Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with company, OSHA, and local regulations
Conduct daily and weekly site meetings to review progress, coordinate tasks, and resolve issues proactively
Interface effectively with project inspectors, city / county officials, engineers, architects, and owners’ representatives
Review and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure work is executed per design intent
Monitor quality control procedures and ensure all construction complies with company standards and contract documents
Identify issues early and communicate clearly with project managers and stakeholders to mitigate delays and risks
Prepare daily reports, maintain accurate field documentation, and support project closeout including punch lists and warranty turnover
Qualifications :
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial or multifamily construction
Proven track record managing ground-up or large-scale renovation projects with multi-trade coordination
Strong knowledge of building systems, safety codes, and construction sequencing
Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Autodesk Build, or similar platforms)
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
Willingness to travel extensively and stay near project sites as required
Preferred Qualifications :
OSHA 30-hour certification
CPR / First Aid certified
LEED, PMP, or other professional certifications a plus
Experience working on Federal or State construction projects
