We are partnering with a well-established automotive supplier who is looking for an experienced Field Engineer to become part of their expanding team. This position presents a unique chance to work in direct partnership with major automotive customers as their dedicated technical representative at client locations. The selected professional will be based at client facilities, serving a vital function in product development launches, technical troubleshooting, and strategic relationship building within the automotive production sector.

The right candidate will excel in customer-focused environments, demonstrate solid technical expertise in automotive technologies, and show excellence in multi-departmental teamwork. This role provides considerable independence, high visibility within our client's business structure, and the chance to establish enduring strategic alliances with leading automotive original equipment manufacturers.

Primary Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Problem Solving :

  • Support the launch, validation, and integration of new automotive products, components, and systems into vehicle development processes
  • Interpret and communicate complex engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards to cross-functional teams
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for automotive clients at their facilities, addressing technical issues and project updates
  • Provide immediate technical support to resolve production and quality issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring customer satisfaction

Project Management & Communication :

  • Collect and analyze data from field tests and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor project milestones and ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and customer specifications
  • Document technical issues and escalate as necessary, keeping all stakeholders informed of risks and solutions
  • Facilitate seamless collaboration among design, manufacturing, quality, and logistics teams
  • Customer Relationship Management :

  • Track and manage customer change requests (CR) and internal change requests (ICR) through approval, implementation, and finalization processes
  • Manage and develop strong customer relationships through exceptional service and technical expertise
  • Maintain high levels of client satisfaction through proactive communication and rapid issue resolution
  • Analyze and assess client needs and goals to provide tailored technical solutions
  • Requirements

  • Work Style : Strong organizational skills with exceptional follow-through on projects and commitments
  • Communication : Excellent coordination and communication skills with ability to work effectively across multiple departments and with external clients
  • Process Management : Experience tracking and managing change request processes (CR / ICR), including approval workflows, implementation monitoring, and terms finalization
  • Industry Experience : Proven background in the automotive market with hands-on experience in automotive systems and manufacturing processes
  • Language : Fluent English required; American accent preferred for client interactions
  • Technical Skills : Strong ability to manage customer relationships, provide technical support, and assess client needs and project goals
  • Availability : Willingness to be present at customer sites when required and travel less than 25% of the time
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical degree in engineering or related field
  • Knowledge of automotive quality standards and compliance requirements
  • Experience with Tier 1 automotive suppliers (Bosch, Continental, Aptiv, etc.)
  • Project management certification or experience
  • Experience working in OEM manufacturing environments
  • Background in automotive product development and validation processes

    Salary : Up to $140,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
