SUMMARY
Under direct supervision, the trainee will attend a California POST basic police academy to be trained in the technical knowledge, skills, and physical capabilities required to perform police service. The trainee will perform related duties as required.

PLEASE NOTE : Applications missing any one of the three components above will not be accepted for consideration. PELLTB T-scores must be 50 or higher, and WSTB scores of 384 or higher.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The trainee will attend a basic police academy for training and, during the training, will not have police powers. Incumbents may be assigned non-safety duties such as assisting in Records, crime prevention, collecting information, and transporting people and materials. Promotion to a sworn Police Officer position is contingent upon successful completion of the academy and the final review of the Police Chief. Upon promotion, the officer will begin a one-year probationary period.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of appointment.Must be a citizen of the United States at the time of appointment.Must possess a valid California Driver's License at the time of appointment.Must possess a High School diploma, a GED certificate, or have attained a two-year, four-year, or advanced degree from an accredited school, college, or university.Must be fingerprinted through local, state, and national systems for the disclosure of criminal records.Must be of good moral character as determined by a thorough background investigation, including a polygraph examination.Must be found free of any physical, emotional, or mental conditions that might adversely affect the exercise of peace officer powers.Must be willing to work evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.Must provide proof of successful completion of the POST Entry-level Law Enforcement Test Battery (PELLETB) written exam and the Physical Agility WSTB exams.SKILL IN
