Geisinger is proud to offer General Diagnostic Radiology Technologist Regional Float positions with a $20,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates! This position also offers a $6 / hr. premium on top of the base pay rate.

Location : Northeast Region, Wilkes-Barre and surrounding areas.

Radiologic Technologists are responsible for administering ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. They perform a full scope of radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures and acquire and analyze data needed for diagnosis at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. They independently perform or assist in radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures. They also prepare, administer, and document activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, or institutional policies.

Job Duties

• Ensure correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is documented appropriately while respecting confidentiality.
• Utilize appropriate imaging protocols and optimize technical factors while maximizing patient safety, applying principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable).
• Prepare and / or administer medications through vascular access sites as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Evaluate images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality; verify archival storage and transfer of data, and post-process data if applicable.
• Educate and monitor students and other healthcare providers.
• Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized radiologic procedures.
• Perform diagnostic radiographic and noninterpretive fluoroscopic procedures as prescribed, including outside the Radiology Department (e.g., Operating Room, Endoscopy, ICU).

Position Details

Education

Graduate from Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology (Required). Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Preferred).

Experience

Minimum of 1 year related work experience (Preferred).

Certifications and Licenses

Radiography (R) - ARRT; Basic Life Support Certification (issued by the default issuing body).
