Overview
Sherwood Surveying & S.U.E is seeking a qualified Surveyor-in-Training (S.I.T.) at our Spring Branch, Texas location. This position will be responsible for assisting a RPLS in a variety of surveying services.
Responsibilities
- Process data collected via Global Positioning System (GPS) technology to obtain necessary results
- Perform calculations to establish coordinates for survey control and survey measurements
- Prepare tentative and final tract maps, parcel maps, Record of Survey maps, ALTA maps, corner records, right-of-way maps, and similar documents from a variety of source documents and data
- Perform field checks, correct, and supplement maps prior to delivery to a client
- Physical tasks such as pounding stakes, setting monuments, clearing line, etc.
- Read and understand title commitments, engineering and architectural plans
- Processes and reviews survey data for completeness and accuracy
- Maintains close communications with the RPLS to report survey progress, problems with and possible resolution to pertinent issues hampering project survey completion
Qualifications
Associates in land surveying or equivalent experience, requiredB.S. Degree in land surveying is a plusS.I.T. registered in Texas3 years minimum surveying experienceMust be knowledgeable in the methods and techniques of cross-country utility surveyingMust have knowledge in Global Positioning Systems (GPS) survey methods, electronic data collection, the processes and computer programs necessary for survey data review and transfer to mappingPhysical requirements including walking over uneven terrain and lifting up to 50 lbs.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
