TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU / Critical Care RN in Santa Maria, California, 93454!

Pay Information

$2,611 per week

About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Profession : RN (Registered Nurse)

Specialty : ICU (Intensive Care Unit)

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 12-hour Days

Hours per Shift : 36 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of 2 years in ICU required

License : Required

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, COVID Vaccine Required, NIHSS

Must-Have : 2 years of ICU experience; previous travel experience preferred

Description :

Unit has 20 ICU beds.

Certifications required are ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.

Patient-to-nurse ratios are 1 to 1-2.

The electronic medical record system used is Cerner.

Charge nurses do not take patient assignments.

There are no nurse aides in this unit.

The weekend requirement is every other weekend.

Holidays will be worked into the permanent staff rotation.

Scrub color is navy.

Tele / Monitor Techs used are Philips.

Nurses will have a monitor tech available if the census is above a certain level.

Nurses are required to read and interpret telemetry strips.

Common medication drips include norepinephrine, dexmedetomidine, epinephrine, and vasopressin.

Ventilators used are Puritan Bennett 840.

An intensivist is present 24 / 7.

Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are available 24 / 7.

The shifts are 12 hours from 7 AM to 7 PM; self-scheduling is used but not always guaranteed.

Floating to assist in the ACLS is required.

Floor-specific orientation is one shift.

Common diagnoses and types of patients include neuro trauma, cardiac surgical patients, open heart cases, post-catheterization patients, aortic dissections, femoral pops, thoracotomies, and continuous renal replacement therapy.

The facility can cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment and 3 shifts for shorter assignments.

Charting is done using Cerner.

A BSN is not required.

This is a Level 3 trauma care setting.

The division is nursing.

Shifts are from 7 AM to 7 PM with every other weekend as the first to float.
