Regional Team Resource Specialist - Head Start

We are seeking an RTRS to join our Head Start program! The Regional Team Resource Specialist (RTRS) provides leadership support, coaching, guidance, and supervision of assigned staff teams in the planning and implementation of all program service areas, including Child Development and Health Services, Family and Community Partnerships, and Staff Development.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

  • Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree in an education related field, such as Early Childhood Education, Social Services, Health and Nutrition, or related field.
  • Two years of supervisory experience.
  • Two years of experience in a Head Start or other Early Learning programs.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Driver qualifications are required for this position. Valid driver license, insured vehicle available for use on the job, and a satisfactory drive record for the previous three years are required.
  • Successful registration with the Central Background Registry of the Child Care Division.
  • CPR / First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
  • Food Handlers Card or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Candidate must pass pre-employment physical examination, renewable every two years.
  • Candidate must pass pre-employment and random drug / alcohol screenings.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.

  • Orientates and trains new site employees.
  • Monitors classroom sites on a regular basis to ensure compliance with Agency and Head Start standards.
  • Ensures adequate staffing in classrooms, substituting as needed.
  • Completes ongoing classroom, home visit, and parent meeting observations.
  • Completes periodic Health and Safety inspections as needed.
  • Conducts Reflective Supervision meetings with all direct employees.
  • Responds to emails, inter-office mail, and voicemails in a prompt manner.
  • Uses ChildPlus and Teaching Strategies Gold for collection, tracking, and reporting of child and family data and child file reviews.
  • Facilitates all aspects of licensing of new locations or renewal to ensure all assigned sites are licensed / relicensed.
  • Participates in regular RTRS Meetings to provide alignment across all Agency Head Start and Early Head Start sites.
  • Participates in regular Leadership Meetings.
  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Directly supervises approximately 10-15 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities for this position include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, as well as planning, assigning, and directing their work and appraising their performance. The Regional TRS is also responsible for rewarding and disciplining employees when applicable and addressing their complaints.

  • Regularly lift and / or move 10 pounds. Occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to move about the workspace.
  • Ability to reach and / or extend to access materials or equipment.
  • Occasional driving between Agency Head Start and Early Head Start sites.
  • Ability to evacuate children from the classroom in an emergency.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Mostly indoor work environment with frequent interruptions and demands.
  • Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • Frequent interactions with vulnerable populations, including children.
  • Evening and weekend work when necessary.
  • Occasional remote work from home as approved by supervisor.
