Veterinary Assistant
VCA Animal Hospital of Santa Cruz is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our exceptional team!
Location : 815 Mission Street, Santa Cruz CA 95060
Compensation : $20 - $25 / hr
Schedule : FT days including Saturdays
What You'll Do :
As a member of VCA Animal Hospital of Santa Cruz, you will support the team by fostering a positive and low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Skills that will be utilized may include, but are not limited to :
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams and procedures
- Kennel support responsibilities
- Restrain animals safely and compassionately
- Prepare and clean exam rooms
- Assist with radiographs, lab sample collection, and basic in-house diagnostics
- Maintain accurate medical records and support charting
- Provide client education and ensure excellent service during visits
- Support surgery prep and recovery as needed
- Help maintain a clean, stocked, and organized hospital environment
