Job Summary :

Job Duties :
Administrative Support
Maintain and organize documentation related to POCT policies procedures training and competency assessments.
Assist with scheduling and tracking of staff training certification and annual competency evaluations.
Prepare reports spreadsheets and presentations for internal audits inspections and management review.
Coordinate communication between the POC Manager clinical departments and laboratory leadership.
Operational Support
Monitor and track inventory of POCT supplies and reagents; assist with ordering and distribution.
Maintain equipment logs service records and calibration schedules for POCT devices.
Assist with onboarding and orientation of new POCT users including access setup and documentation.
Support the implementation and maintenance of POCT connectivity and data entry systems.
Compliance & Quality
Assist in preparing for regulatory inspections (e.g. CAP CLIA TJC) by ensuring documentation is complete and up to date.
Track and file quality control (QC) and proficiency testing (PT) records for all POCT devices.
Help monitor compliance with POCT policies and escalate issues to the POC Manager as needed.
Perform new equipment quality checks such as linearity and quality control for new or current equipment in need of troubleshooting.
Qualifications : Education :
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of Point-of-Care training program through ADLM AMT ASCLS or ASCP
Completion of a Clinical Laboratory Assistant or Medical Laboratory Assistant program preferred.
Experience :
Minimum of 12 years of experience in a clinical laboratory or healthcare administrative setting preferred.
Full time experience as a Clinical Laboratory Assistant is a requirement (6-12 months minimum)
Familiarity with laboratory or POCT workflows is highly desirable.
Certification :
ASCP certification as a Clinical Laboratory Assistant (CLA) preferred but not required.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities :
Basic understanding of laboratory operations and point-of-care testing principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint) and electronic documentation systems.
Strong organizational communication and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance.

Additional Job Description
Education : Bachelor of Science degree In Medical Technology or relevant medical or scientific discipline. Experience : None. Certification : Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by ASCP BOC or equivalent or relevant categorical certification preferred at the time of hire however if not certified certification must be obtained within the first year of employment.
