Job Title : Gage Technician

Position Summary
The Gage Technician is responsible for the calibration, certification, and maintenance of precision measuring equipment used in manufacturing and quality assurance processes. This role ensures that all gages and measurement tools meet required standards and are available for use when needed, directly supporting operational efficiency and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and non-routine calibration of mechanical, electrical, and dimensional measurement tools (e.g., torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, height gages, etc.)
- Maintain accurate records of all calibrations, adjustments, and repairs in compliance with ISO 17025 and company procedures
- Ensure all gaging equipment is identified, tracked, and properly stored
- Troubleshoot and repair or coordinate repair of faulty or damaged tools
- Assist in establishing and maintaining a calibration schedule and notification system
- Support audits by providing documentation and traceability for gage and tool calibration
- Communicate with internal departments and vendors regarding gage needs, lead times, and technical support
- Recommend improvements in calibration procedures and gage management practices
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards at all times
Qualifications
Required :High school diploma or GEDMinimum of 2 years of experience in gage calibration or precision measurementFamiliarity with calibration standards (e.g., ISO 17025, ANSI / NCSL Z540)Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)Strong attention to detail and manual dexterityProficient with Microsoft Office and calibration database systemsPreferred :Associate degree in Metrology, Engineering Technology, or a related fieldPrevious experience in a manufacturing or industrial tooling environmentCertification in metrology or calibration (e.g., ASQ CCT)Working Conditions
Primarily performed in a shop or lab environment with occasional visits to manufacturing areasMay be required to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate hand tools or testing equipmentNormal working hours with occasional overtime or off-site visitsWhat We Offer
