Estimator - Heavy Civil

Job Title : Heavy Civil Estimator

Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of hands-on estimating experience within bridge, highway, paving, and concrete construction. This individual will play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates, supporting bid proposals, and collaborating with project teams throughout the preconstruction process.

Key Responsibilities :

Prepare detailed, accurate estimates for bridge, highway, paving, and concrete projects.

Review project plans, specifications, and RFQs / RFPs to determine scope and requirements.

Perform quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and subcontractor / supplier pricing reviews.

Develop and maintain cost databases, historical data, and production rates.

Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure accurate assumptions and constructability considerations.

Assist with bid preparation, proposals, schedules, and value engineering options.

Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions as needed.

Track market pricing trends and maintain strong vendor and subcontractor relationships.

Qualifications :

Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction.

Strong background in bridge, highway, paving, and concrete project estimating.

Proficiency in takeoff and estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Agtek, or similar).

Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.

Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents.

Excellent communication and time-management abilities.
