Position Description Summary :

The Health & Safety Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring company-wide health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs to ensure a safe workplace and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role analyzes work environments, establishes safety standards, conducts training, and partners with leadership to drive a proactive safety culture.

Responsibilities and Duties :

• Promote and adhere to the Core Values and Behavior Code.
• Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety programs, procedures, and policies.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Investigate incidents, near-misses, and workplace injuries; prepare reports and lead root-cause analysis.
• Assist production management with process and techniques to produce and deliver quality parts in accordance with schedule.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate and lead safety training, toolbox talks, new hire onboarding, and continuous safety education.
• Maintain safety documentation, permits, records, and reporting as required by law and company standards.
• Evaluate new equipment, materials, and processes for safety implications.
• Monitor welding fumes, grinding dust, confined space entry, hot work, and heavy lifting operations.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE including respirators, welding hoods, hearing protection, and fall protection.
• Oversee crane operator, forklift operator, and rigging safety training and retraining.
• Manage Lockout / Tagout and crane / hoist inspections.
• Work with supervisors and employees to reinforce safe work practices and hazard awareness.
• Collaborate with leadership to drive continuous improvement in the organization's safety culture.
• Support emergency response planning and drills.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory inspectors, auditors, and external safety professionals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands / Work Environment :

This full-time position operates in both a professional office and production environment. Use of computer, telephone and other office equipment throughout the day as needed to conduct business. Physical effort consists of frequent handling of light to average weight and materials and visiting work areas. Work performed requires constant alertness and activity, concentrated mental and visual attention required.
