About The Position

Job Title : Sonographer, Client Fetal Medicine

Profession : Sonographer

Specialty : Client Fetal Medicine (MFM)

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Day

Hours per Shift : 8 hours

Experience : Minimum 1 year in Client Fetal Medicine required

License : Active VA license required

Certifications : RDMS-OB, NT - Nuchal Translucency

Must-Have :

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Client Fetal Medicine

Ultrasound experience in Client, High Risk OB, Nuchal Translucency

Vascular experience in Doppler studies

Experience with M-Mode and Fetal Echo preferred

Description :

The registered sonographer works closely with MFM providers, genetic counselors, medical assistants, nurses, and patient care representatives.

The team sees an average of 50-100 patients daily among multiple providers.

OB exams performed include first trimester viability, nuchal translucency, early anatomy surveys, and third trimester anatomy assessments.

Cervical length assessments and biophysical profiles are also conducted.

Limited procedures include multiple ultrasound-guided invasive procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling.

Fetal echo and Doppler studies are performed to assess various vascular parameters.

The practice encounters a variety of patient diagnoses, including congenital cardiac defects and fetal growth restriction.

Multiple add-on cases are common throughout the day.

The facility adheres to vaccination requirements for flu and COVID-19 for all staff members.
