Job Overview
The Security Officer (Guard I) is responsible for access control inventory checks routine patrols and customer service duties as directed by the Post Commander. This role ensures the professional operation safety and integrity of the site under government standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide front-line customer service to guests, drivers and vendors entering the property.
- Enforce access control procedures by verifying authorization, issuing badges and logging entries / exits.
- Monitor property entrances and exits to detect unauthorized access or suspicious behavior.
- Conduct routine truck inventory checks and document findings accurately.
- Gate-out trucks upon departure and ensure all departure records are completed within the assigned shift.
- Perform scheduled foot patrols of designated areas to ensure safety and security.
- Respond to incidents or accidents, investigate causes and complete written incident reports.
- Use basic computer systems, including training modules and inventory platforms, to support daily operations.
- Maintain a proactive security presence to deter potential threats or safety hazards.
- Foster positive interactions with all personnel and uphold a professional image of the company and client site.
Qualifications
Minimum of one (1) year of prior security experience preferably in access control or logistics environments.Must possess a current and valid California Guard Card issued by BSIS.Demonstrated ability to remain calm and professional in high-paced or changing environments.Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual abilities are a plus.Basic computer literacy; ability to complete digital reports and use on-site software platforms.Familiarity with incident reporting gate logs and basic inventory practices.Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and perform physical patrols.Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with site-specific protocols and regulations.Education Requirements
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Certification Requirements
Valid Guard Card.
