- Weaving / Fixer Technician – 2 nd Shift Department : Maintenance / Production Reports to : Plant Manager FLSA Status : Non-exempt – Hourly Location : Chesterfield, SC Job Type : Full-time / Shift Work Job Summary : The Weaving / Fixer Technician is responsible for the efficient operation, repair, and maintenance of textile machinery used in manufacturing.
- This role ensures that all machines run smoothly, troubleshooting issues as they arise and making necessary repairs to minimize production delays.
- The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience working in a textile or industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities :
1.Maintenance and Repair Inspect, adjust, and repair looms and knitting machines.Replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments.Perform preventive maintenance on a scheduled basis to minimize unplanned downtime.Lubricate machine parts and clean components to ensure smooth operation. 2.Troubleshooting and Diagnostics Identify causes of equipment malfunctions, inefficiencies, and quality issues through observation, testing, and use of diagnostic tools.Respond quickly to breakdowns to restore machine functionality.Collaborate with machine operators to understand problems and verify repairs. 3.Installation and Setup Assist in the installation of new machinery and relocation of existing equipment.Assist in the setup and startup of style changes per specifications.Align mechanical parts to ensure proper fit and function. 4.Recordkeeping and Reporting Document all maintenance and repair activities in maintenance logs or computerized systems.Report recurring issues or necessary parts replacement to supervisors. 5.Safety and Compliance Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).Ensure machines operate safely and within manufacturer guidelines.Comply with OSHA and company safety standards.Required Skills and Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred. 2+ years of experience in textile weaving and knitting machinery maintenance or a related mechanical field.Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.Good communication and teamwork skills.Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, climbing, Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.Work in noisy, hot, or cold environments depending on the plant conditions.Work Schedule :
Full-Time Second Shift May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays depending on production needs.Benefits :
