Job Title :

  • Weaving / Fixer Technician – 2 nd Shift Department : Maintenance / Production Reports to : Plant Manager FLSA Status : Non-exempt – Hourly Location : Chesterfield, SC Job Type : Full-time / Shift Work Job Summary : The Weaving / Fixer Technician is responsible for the efficient operation, repair, and maintenance of textile machinery used in manufacturing.
  • This role ensures that all machines run smoothly, troubleshooting issues as they arise and making necessary repairs to minimize production delays.
  • The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience working in a textile or industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • 1.
  • Maintenance and Repair Inspect, adjust, and repair looms and knitting machines.
  • Replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on a scheduled basis to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Lubricate machine parts and clean components to ensure smooth operation. 2.
  • Troubleshooting and Diagnostics Identify causes of equipment malfunctions, inefficiencies, and quality issues through observation, testing, and use of diagnostic tools.
  • Respond quickly to breakdowns to restore machine functionality.
  • Collaborate with machine operators to understand problems and verify repairs. 3.
  • Installation and Setup Assist in the installation of new machinery and relocation of existing equipment.
  • Assist in the setup and startup of style changes per specifications.
  • Align mechanical parts to ensure proper fit and function. 4.
  • Recordkeeping and Reporting Document all maintenance and repair activities in maintenance logs or computerized systems.
  • Report recurring issues or necessary parts replacement to supervisors. 5.
  • Safety and Compliance Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ensure machines operate safely and within manufacturer guidelines.
  • Comply with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred. 2+ years of experience in textile weaving and knitting machinery maintenance or a related mechanical field.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, climbing, Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Work in noisy, hot, or cold environments depending on the plant conditions.
  • Work Schedule :

  • Full-Time Second Shift May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays depending on production needs.
