Position Overview

We're seeking an Estimator to join our team in Lafayette. In this role, you'll prepare detailed cost estimates for a variety of projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness. You'll work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop winning proposals and support successful project delivery.

What You'll Do

  • Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine scope and requirements.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and prepare accurate cost estimates for multiple disciplines.
  • Maintain up-to-date pricing information from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Analyze design options and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Incorporate historical data and productivity metrics into estimates.
  • Lead and coordinate estimating efforts for assigned bids and proposals.
  • Prepare bid forms, request bonds and insurance, and manage bid submissions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Track awarded projects and assist with change orders and extra work pricing.
  • Support outreach efforts to identify new subcontractors and bid opportunities.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, OR 4-7 years of relevant estimating experience.
  • Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles and practices.
  • Ability to estimate concrete, earthwork, and structural components.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and estimating software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
