JOB SUMMARY :

The Division Safety Manager leads the development, implementation, and oversight of workplace safety practices to ensure a safe and compliant environment for all employees. This role plays a key part in fostering a culture of safety by proactively identifying risks, addressing concerns, and collaborating with employees, trade partners, and controlling contractors. This position also oversees safety training programs for both employees and subcontractors, ensuring that all parties are equipped with the knowledge and resources needed to maintain the highest standards of safety on every job site.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES :

Perform skilled labor duties related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment, including but not limited to :

• Ensure all policies, programs, and daily operations comply with applicable local, state, and federal laws and procedures.
• Assist in the development and implementation of safety and job training policies and procedures.
• Attain proficiency and confidence in all training environments.
• Maintain a strong field presence and build rapport with field team members, trade partners, controlling contractors, and job hosts.
• Oversee the maintenance of OSHA documentation, including SDS binders and chemical inventories.
• Conduct random and requested project site visits to uphold Tri-City Safety Standards and OSHA compliance.
• Achieve and maintain proficiency in training for all onsite equipment and required competencies.
• Forward all site-related training documentation to the Safety / Training Director.
• Provide input on bids related to safety costs and labor hours required for safety procedures.
• Participate in industry organizations focused on safety, training, and construction as directed.
• Respond immediately to OSHA inspections and remain on site until the inspector departs, even if the inspection is unrelated to Tri-City Electrical Contractors, Inc.
• Deliver safety training during Superintendents meetings.
• Support the Safety / Training Director with technical trade-related training.
• Pursue professional continuing education opportunities, with emphasis on train-the-trainer programs.
• Collect OSHA, safety, and workers compensation investigation data from project sites as requested.
• Assist in managing the Corporate Clothing Store.
• Support school-to-work programs by monitoring on-site mentoring.
• Maintain accurate records and complete detailed reports on time.
• Keep OSHA certifications current.
• Assist in conducting and presenting new hire orientation.
• Promote and support the companys apprenticeship program.
• Oversee Tri-City property for safety and health-related concerns.
• Serve as a resource to other contractors as directed or requested.
• Stay current with emerging safety issues and regulations.
• Track training documentation for all Tri-City employees and subcontractors.
• Engage with other safety and training professionals to share best practices and strengthen industry standards.
• Facilitate training sessions, including scheduling classes, securing rooms, and arranging refreshments.
• Maintain the approved drivers list across all divisions.
• Assist the Safety / Training Director in providing technical trade-related training.
• Partner with HR on workers compensation investigations and fact-finding related to injuries, as needed.
• Investigate accidents, near misses, and safety violations to identify trends and recommend preventive measures.
• Identify and assess hazardous conditions and practices, and develop appropriate hazard control programs.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and hazard assessments, assigning responsibilities and deadlines to resolve issues.
• Communicate safety programs effectively to increase overall employee awareness and knowledge.
• Deliver or oversee both on-the-job and classroom training for safety and technical programs.
• Implement and enforce the Safety, Health & Environmental Program (SHEP).
