Salary : $35 - $40 per hour and $3,600 annual bonus paid out monthly.
The Behavior Specialist is a trained individual who provides clinical and case management to behavior technicians and clients / families under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The Behavior Specialist provides midlevel supervision when allowed by the payer source. The Behavior Specialist is accountable to all federal, state and local contracts, programs, and Maxim requirements. The Behavior Specialist supports onboarding, orientation, and ongoing evaluation of behavioral direct care staff (e.g. behavior technicians and intensive behavior support providers).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Develops goals, programs, materials, and behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a BCBA
Oversees the work of Behavior Technicians as assigned by Clinical Supervisor (BCBA) or Operations Leader
Conducts face-to-face case and Behavior Technician supervision for assigned caseload
Assists Clinical Supervisor (BCBA) in behavioral and skill acquisition assessments
Trains Behavior Technicians in implementation of behavior change plans including behavior intervention plans and skill acquisition goals.
Trains families, caregivers, and school staff in implementation of behavior change plans including behavior intervention plans and skill acquisition goals.
Assists Clinical Supervisor (BCBA) in updating behavior change plans including current progress on behavior goals and skill acquisition goals
Monitors progress and treatment effectiveness of behavioral programs under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor (BCBA)
Conducts clinical interviews and participates in hiring decisions in collaboration with Clinical
Manager-Behavioral or other office clinical leader
Facilitates the orientation process, competency and skills validation process for behavioral direct care staff
May conduct skill enhancement training for behavioral caregivers
Provides behavioral services to children with autism or other behavioral disorders as outlined in the behavioral change plan
Participates in office and clinical quality initiative activities
Accountable to all federal, state, local contracts and programs, and Maxim requirements
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements :
Must meet at least one of the following educational requirements :
A master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or similar degree when allowed by state or program.
Bachelor's degree and BCaBA (Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst)
Licensed Assistant Behavior Analyst, when applicable by state
At least one year of experience providing behavioral services to children with autism or other related disorders
At least one year of experience in providing behavior analytic services in home, school, or community settings
At least be enrolled in approved BACB courses and preparing for BCBA exam
Ability to effectively communicate with appropriate individuals (including, but no limited to co-workers, supervisors, clients)
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.) required
Current CPR / BLS certification
At least 18 years of age
Excellent communication skills
Proficiency in the English language required
