Cash Application Specialist
We are looking for a detail-oriented Cash Application Specialist to join our team in Austin, Texas. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in reconciling bank statements, applying payments, and ensuring the correct allocation of funds across multiple business units.
Responsibilities :
- Reconcile cash transactions from bank statements to the ERP system with precision and attention to detail.
- Accurately apply payments from bank deposits to customer accounts within the system.
- Manage cash applications for assigned business units across a group of 16 companies, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Adhere to jurisdiction-specific reporting regulations and meet required deadlines.
- Handle high transaction volumes while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
- Investigate discrepancies in reconciliation by utilizing resources and conducting thorough research.
- Navigate various portals to retrieve remittance advice and ensure proper payment application.
- Collaborate with teams through open communication channels to streamline workflows.
- Utilize EDI files and automated processes to enhance efficiency in cash application tasks.
- Apply strong knowledge of general ledger coding to distinguish and reconcile cash and accounts receivable activities.
Requirements :
Previous experience in cash applications, accounts receivable, or similar roles is required.Proficiency in posting payments and reconciling bank transactions.Familiarity with EDI files and automated financial systems.Ability to handle high volumes of transactions with accuracy and efficiency.Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve discrepancies during reconciliation.Competence in navigating multiple portals and retrieving necessary payment details.Independent problem-solving abilities and resourcefulness.Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.
