Locum Optometrist Contract

Under the supervision of, and in conjunction with, an Ophthalmologist, the Optometrist will diagnose and treat eye movement disorders and related sensory deficiencies, providing specialized eye care services in a clinical setting.
Job Responsibilities :
- Evaluate and diagnose ocular motility disorders; perform specialized eye tests to assess visual acuity, focusing ability, eye movement (strabismus measurements), binocular function, and color vision using ophthalmic instruments such as prisms.
- Provide education to ophthalmic technicians, residents, medical students, and physicians regarding sensorimotor evaluation and treatment of sensorimotor disorders.
- Assist Pediatric Ophthalmologists with clinical evaluations of pediatric patients.
- Conduct medical and ophthalmic history-taking, review of systems, and document the chief complaint.
- Detect eye disorders in children and adults that impede normal vision.
- Consult with physicians regarding treatment plans, including exercises and techniques to control eye movements.
- Utilize special lenses, filters, prisms, and instruments to aid patients in vision correction.
- Perform related duties as required, ensuring all responsibilities are aligned with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Duties not explicitly mentioned but related to the role are considered non-essential.
Job Qualifications :
Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree required.Valid and current license to practice as a Licensed Optometrist in Montana.Specialized certifications as needed for the role.2-3 years of relevant clinical experience required.
