Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Plan and supervise all components of government audit engagements of varying complexity
  • Develop deep understanding of client businesses and become a functional expert
  • Prepare and review work papers under GAAS to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Anticipate client concerns, identify issues, and deliver timely solutions
  • Build strong relationships with client personnel while meeting deadlines and budgets
  • Mentor and coach staff, providing feedback for evaluations and professional growth
  • Demonstrate proficiency in technical research, professional standards, and quality work
  • Participate in firm recruiting and client development activities
  • Apply knowledge of FASB, GASB, SAS, SSARS, and other auditing principles in engagements
  • Qualifications Needed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics (required, Accounting preferred)
  • CPA license (active or in progress, required)
  • Minimum 5 years of public accounting experience in government auditing with proven progression in complexity and scope
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience leading audit staff and managing engagements
  • Strong background in financial statement audits, regulatory compliance, and government standards (FASB, GASB, GAAS)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CaseWare and Workiva experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects within deadlines and budgets
  • Proven ability to coach, train, and develop junior staff
