Job Title : Program Manager (Network Grooming)
Location : Richardson, TX (Hybrid)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead a large-scale network decommissioning and migration project. This role involves managing a team of eight network engineers, coordinating resources across a 24x6 schedule, and ensuring timely execution of project milestones. You will oversee planning, testing, and maintenance activities for a broad range of network technologies, while providing regular updates to executive leadership.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day program operations and lead a team of eight network engineers.
- Allocate resources and adjust schedules weekly to meet project demands.
- Provide weekly or bi-weekly status reports and readouts to leadership.
- Coordinate network grooming activities, including traffic migration and equipment removal from central office locations.
- Partner with leadership and engineering teams to identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with timelines, processes, and access requirements.
- Oversee vendor coordination and executive reporting.
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of experience in telecom program management .Strong background in network technologies and circuit-level engineering (not finance PM roles).Hands-on experience with network turn-downs, provisioning, grooming , activations, and maintenance.Proficiency in telecom tools : TCOMS , BGW .Knowledge of Layer 1 technologies : SONET (OC3-OC192), TDM (DS0-DS3), and related equipment (Ciena, Fujitsu, Nortel, Tellabs, Alcatel).Experience in central office environments and circuit order activation.Excellent communication and reporting skills.Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to Cisco / Juniper routers and high-speed interfaces (GigE, 10G, 100G).
