Sonographer Job Description

Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sonographer to join our team. As a Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures to produce high-quality images for medical interpretation. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely diagnostic images for our patients.

Essential Functions and Qualifications

  • Associate's or bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography OB / GYN or related field
  • Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Sonographer
  • CPR / BLS certified.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
  • Ability to work at a computer and on your feet for extended periods.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and mindfulness
  • Effective communication skills to interact professionally.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • Work is performed in a medical office setting using standard medical equipment. The risk of exposure to blood and bodily fluids is present.

Sonographer Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures using specialized equipment.
  • Obtain and record patient history and clinical data.
  • Performs exams with technical accuracy and in a timely manner.
  • Analyze images and provide preliminary findings to physicians.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure patient confidentiality.
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Accurately uses ECW and Tricefy software.
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities.
  • Travel to other locations, as needed.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
