The Office represents the State of Florida in state and federal civil and criminal courts, from trial courts to the Supreme Court of the United States. This Law Enforcement Investigator II position is in the Office of the Attorney General within the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, conducting investigations of alleged violations of applicable laws pertaining to Medicaid fraud in the administration of the Medicaid program and / or the alleged abuse or neglect of patients in health care facilities governed by the State Medicaid program. The duties of this position require a state certified law enforcement officer, who is required to bear firearms and must maintain certification as a law enforcement officer pursuant to chapter 943, Florida Statutes. The incumbent possesses the power of arrest pursuant to section 409.9205, Florida Statutes, and is charged with enforcing all matters addressed in 409.920, Florida Statutes. These matters include but are not limited to : fraud against the Medicaid Program, false claims against the Medicaid program, and safeguarding the privacy rights of all individuals to prevent improper or illegal use of medical information.
