LOCATION : Remote with 10% travel required to Chandler, AZ; candidates living in the West Coast & Mid-West preferred

POSITION TIMING : Candidate must obtain a DHS Public Trust clearance prior to starting the position.

Job Overview

The hired candidate will help maintain 600 sites with the telecom team in the West Coast region (primarily in Chandler, AZ) as well as other remote sites. The role supports add / move / changing for users, system and network troubleshooting, system and office migrations. The engineer manages projects and ticket queue, coordinates with third‑party vendors for additional support or new installations, and provides support to VTC and Network engineering teams on system requirements. Reporting occurs to a senior telecom engineer who provides training, tasking, and guidance.

Additional duties include translating business requirements into telecommunications (LAN, MAN, WAN, Voice, Video) requirements, design, orders, and administration. The engineer will conduct in‑depth analysis of telecommunications alternatives (VoIP, Cloud Hosted Solution) for government agencies, supporting their modernization efforts and large‑scale infrastructure design. The role interfaces with end users and telecom operations personnel and provides project tracking, guidance, and reporting to customers.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the User Community for ICE specific Telecommunications business needs and services.
• Ensure Avaya system requirements are met, including third‑party software and / or hardware.
• Application support for custom app groups within the ICE specific network.
• Collaborate with clients and sales staff to support projects and service requests.
• Provide 24 / 7 Production Outage Recovery Support.
• Create standard operating procedures (SOP) for training a dynamic workforce.
• Provide end‑user training remotely and in person.
• Create and maintain documentation, reports, SOPs, data spreadsheets, etc.
• Submit weekly status reports.

Any of the following certifications would be an advantage : Avaya Badges, CTNS, iNARTE, IPEP, NCTI, (CCNA, CCNP, CCNE).
