The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative (PSR II) serves as the frontline representative for patients and healthcare professionals. In this role, you will draw high-quality blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory testing while maintaining a professional, safe, and compassionate patient experience. This position requires excellent communication, phlebotomy expertise, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform accurate and timely specimen collection and processing according to established procedures.Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment that ensures patient comfort and trust.Verify patient identification, confirm correct labeling, and obtain signatures as required post-venipuncture.Accurately document patient interactions, specimen handling, and test data.Perform both clinical and forensic collections , adhering to all confidentiality and safety standards.Support multiple patient service centers and in-office phlebotomy locations as needed.Ensure compliance with HIPAA, safety, and quality control policies.Maintain supplies, prepare daily logs, and coordinate with lab and administrative staff to meet deadlines.Promote the company's culture of process excellence, professionalism, and superior customer service.Required Experience :
Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience , including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.High school diploma or equivalent required.Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, WA).Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.Data entry and keyboarding skills required.Nice-to-Have Experience :
Minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment.Customer service experience in retail or healthcare settings.Experience with point-of-care testing and hospital credentialing.Required Skills :
