Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with a Step-Down Unit at a premier healthcare facility in Bradenton, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to critically ill patients in the ICU and Step-Down Unit, working closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will be comfortable performing procedures, managing complex cases, and using Cerner EMR for patient documentation.

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU and Step-Down Unit, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management.
• Perform a variety of medical procedures as required, including but not limited to central line placement, intubation, and arterial line insertion.
• Collaborate with intensive scientists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress, lab results, and evolving conditions.
• Provide patient education and support for patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and care plans.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes using Cerner EMR.
• Respond to acute and emergency situations in the ICU, including rapid assessments and interventions.
• Participate in team rounds, contributing to the development and implementation of patient care strategies.
• Maintain up-to-date protocols, procedures, and best practices.
