American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring ICP or ventric experience and strong telemetry skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in the Neuro ICU of a hospital with an 18-bed critical care unitCare for critically ill adult patients with neuro diagnoses such as stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, surgical resections, and traumaWork schedule is evening / night, including 8 or 12-hour shifts from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM, with every other weekend and some holidays requiredTravelers are the first to float and may be scheduled in multiple units or locations based on staffing needsEpic electronic medical record system is used and recent Epic experience is requiredRole involves critical care nursing for complex neuro patients including the use of hemodynamic monitoring and hypothermia interventionsStrong emphasis on critical thinking and collaboration with a multidisciplinary teamOrientation schedule is approximately one week and follows department-specific start datesOrientation will be held at the main campusTesting with strict pass / fail criteria is required, including 100% identification of lethal arrhythmias and passing scores of 80% or higher on telemetry examsScrub requirements and parking information available upon onboardingFirst-time travelers are accepted for this positionHoliday rotation is required, with specifics determined by the unit\n \n Requirements\n
Active WI or compact RN license in hand at time of considerationBLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association requiredMinimum two years of acute care Neuro ICU experience within the last three yearsDemonstrated ICP or ventric experience requiredBasic arrhythmia experience required and candidates must pass a telemetry test before startingEpic experience required, preferably within the last 12 monthsPermanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the worksiteTelemetry test must be passed prior to orientation; failure after two attempts requires completion of a cardiac review course before a third attempt\n Benefits\n
