Overview

Greystar is seeking a Community Support Specialist in property management to support the financial aspects of onsite operations across a portfolio of communities. The role includes accounting, bookkeeping, financial close out, payable processing, and resident / vendor communications related to financial transactions.

Job Description

  • Contribute to an optimized customer experience in a virtual environment via phone, email, or other technologies.
  • Review and process onsite operational expenses for payment by reconciling work performed, confirming receipt of goods, and coding expenses to the appropriate Chart of Account codes. Manage communication between vendors / contractors, accounting, and the client / owner as needed.
  • Communicate with residents regarding account balances; implement procedures for collecting delinquent accounts and enforce lease contracts to maximize revenue.
  • Follow procedures related to regaining possession of apartments, including proper notice requirements, filing with legal representation, and coordinating court representation with onsite teams and legal counsel.
  • Perform final accounting procedures to ensure accurate billing and minimize liability for damages to communities.
  • Coordinate setting up new vendors, contractors, and service providers for payment; research and resolve invoice disputes and issue payments.
  • Review utility billing and resident charges for accuracy and address unit-level discrepancies with onsite teams.
  • Assist with administrative tasks across the resident lifecycle (move-in / move-out procedures, renewals, file audits, and related tasks).
  • Promote resident satisfaction and retention by timely responses and actions to resolve account-related issues.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Minimum of one year of accounting or property management experience (Assistant / Community Manager role preferred).
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to understand and complete legal documents and answer questions about financial operations of the property.
  • Proficiency with internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and database tools to complete required reports and documents.
  • Strong proficiency with property management software (Yardi experience required).
  • Mathematical skills to perform calculations for payment validation and processing.
  • Understanding of property operations, lease terms, and lease enforcement including collections.
  • Employment history demonstrating property management, accounting, and customer service experience related to day-to-day apartment community operations and financial records.
  • College degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • The salary for this position is $55,000.

    Additional Compensation

  • Corporate positions : Eligible for quarterly or annual bonuses based on individual and company performance.
  • Onsite positions : Eligible for weekly, monthly, and / or quarterly bonus programs.
