Group / Division
With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The Surfscan group includes a team of engineers, technology development, apps engineers and product marketing focused on technology that enables wafer, IC and equipment manufacturers to develop, qualify and monitor their process tools. Defects and process non-uniformities detected on Surfscan equipment allow for early identification of yield excursions. The flagship Surfscan products include the SPx platforms for wafer surface quality and wafer defect inspection tools and systems for inspection of polished wafers, epi wafers and engineered substrates during the wafer fabrication process.
Job Description / Preferred Qualifications
KLA seeks to recruit a senior leader to lead Strategic Marketing for the Surfscan portfolio of KLA's products and initiatives in the areas of inspection and metrology.
The Surfscan group is comprised of several critical product lines, including :
Unpattern Wafer Inspection : Featuring leading platforms such as the SPx series for wafer defect and surface quality inspection
Shape Metrology : Addressing both unpatterned and patterned wafer shape measurement needs
Chemical Metrology : Offering process control for electroplating as well as etch and clean chemistries
Instrument Portfolio : Delivering inspection and metrology tools for specialty substrates and providing benchtop solutions for industrial and academic use
The Surfscan group is built on the expertise of a diverse team, including physicists, chemists, hardware and software engineers, system and application engineers, data scientists, as well as professionals in marketing and program management.
Responsibilities :
The ideal candidate will be a proven technology, marketing, and business leader with a track-record of driving commercial adoption of new paradigm solutions in the areas of inspection or shape and chemical metrology.
With prior experience in product development, strategy, and marketing, this leader will have a view on the broader ecosystem for these technologies.
This individual will be known for a strong product and technology orientation, with proven technology foundation in relevant areas to be able to absorb and then articulate the KLA and Surfscan group value proposition to demanding customers.
This leader will be a hands-on player-coach comfortable operating in an environment that connects the KLA structure with the various teams.
Will understand and incorporate viewpoints from all key stakeholders to drive decision making and share the benefits.
The ideal candidate will embody the following characteristics :
Proven strategic marketing leadership in a deeply technical company at a comparable scale
Demonstrated track record of taking new products to customers for market-leading applications
Deep knowledge of / network of contacts in the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem
Strong technical background with the ability to hold one's own in discussions with leaders in inspection and metrology technologies
Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate (Academic) and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience OR
Master's Level Degree and a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience OR
Bachelor's Level Degree and a minimum of 15 years of experience
