Overview
The Technical Program Manager is responsible for enabling efficient team delivery by owning Agile execution, delivery tooling, and centralized knowledge management. This role partners closely with engineering, product, and stakeholders to keep work organized, visible, and on track—while supporting decision‑making through data and insights.
You will manage the team’s Jira Scrum processes, maintain project and organizational documentation in Confluence, perform ad‑hoc data analysis to support planning and reporting, and assist with project coordination to ensure successful delivery.
Responsibilities
Program & Project Coordination
- Coordinate project timelines, deliverables, and cross‑functional dependencies
- Track progress against plans and proactively surface risks or blockers
- Support planning activities by translating goals into actionable work items
- Provide delivery status updates to stakeholders as needed
Data Analysis & Reporting
Perform ad‑hoc data analysis using Jira data and related sources to support planning, retrospectives, and decision‑makingDevelop and maintain delivery metrics (, velocity, throughput, cycle time, capacity)Create dashboards or reports that increase visibility into team health and performanceAgile & Scrum Execution
Own and administer the team’s Jira Scrum boards, workflows, and backlog hygieneFacilitate or support Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand‑ups, reviews, and retrospectivesOccasional requirements gathering and story documentationEnsure accurate tracking of work, dependencies, risks, and delivery milestonesPartner with product and engineering to promote continuous improvement in team deliveryTooling & Knowledge Management
Own the team’s Confluence spaces, ensuring documentation is structured, up‑to‑date, and easy to navigateEstablish and maintain standards for project, process, and operational documentationServe as a subject‑matter resource for Jira and Confluence best practicesCollaboration & Enablement
Act as a connector across teams to improve communication and alignmentEnable teams to work more effectively by reducing friction, improving processes, and increasing transparencySupport leadership with insights into delivery trends and opportunities for improvementQualifications
Required
Experience working in Agile or Scrum‑based delivery environmentsHands‑on experience managing Jira boards and workflowsExperience creating and maintaining structured documentation in ConfluenceStrong organizational, communication, and coordination skillsAbility to analyze data and translate findings into actionable insightsExperience in a technical environment (engineering, data, platform, or product teams)History of success with multi-tasking within a high-pace landscapePreferred
Familiarity with Agile delivery metrics and reportingExperience supporting multiple projects or workstreams simultaneouslyComfort working with ambiguity and evolving prioritiesCompensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $87,600 - $137,600 annually. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and / or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
