Sr. Accounting Manager (Bilingual in Korean)

Job Summary

As a Senior Accounting Manager at Kakao Entertainment Global Corp., you will lead the financial operations for our U.S.-based K-pop initiatives, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and strategic oversight. You will develop and implement robust accounting processes to support artist promotions, merchandise sales, and operational growth in the U.S. market. Collaborating with internal teams and external partners, you will drive financial efficiency, manage audits, and provide actionable insights to elevate our global influence in the entertainment industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and KSOX standards.
  • Lead and mentor accounting team, providing direction, performance feedback, and support to ensure effective collaboration, professional growth, and achievement of organizational and personal goals.
  • Design and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in financial operations, including accruals, disbursements, and intercompany accounting.
  • Promote operational efficiency initiatives to deliver tactical financial results across all areas.
  • Manage month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Approve monthly ledger account reconciliations and review journal entries, analyzing month-over-month fluctuations for reasonableness and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for corporate accounting and disbursements, ensuring alignment with U.S. market trends and K-pop branding.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with audit standards and KSOX requirements.
  • Manage and mitigate U.S. GAAP, KSOX compliance, and operational risks, ensuring effective financial controls are in place.
  • Provide strategic financial insights through budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support artist visibility and revenue growth.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management to support organizational objectives.

Qualifications

  • Possess 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably within the entertainment or music industry.
  • Demonstrate 3+ years of supervisory experience, leading high-performing teams.
  • Hold a Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Earned CPA certification (preferred).
  • Exhibit exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with a track record of managing complex financial projects under tight deadlines.
  • Apply advanced analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills to financial data.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, KSOX, and other regulatory standards, with the ability to perform research on proper accounting principles.
  • Show commitment to accuracy and detail in all financial processes.
  • Adapt to a fast-paced environment with strong time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate high self-motivation and initiative.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, artists, and external stakeholders.
  • Lead teams to achieve high performance and professional development.
  • Utilize proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
  • Preferred Skills

  • Earned a Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Gained experience in the entertainment industry.
  • Understand international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS) for global operations.
  • Achieved success in implementing process improvements or system upgrades.
  • Possess business-level proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Korean.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of Oracle ERP and creating OBIEE inquiries.
