About The Position

Certifications : BLS, PALS

Must-Have :

Experience in pediatrics.

Ability to administer blood and blood products.

Experience with anti-seizure medications.

Skilled in NG tube insertion and management.

Proficient in pediatric dosage calculations.

Experience with seizure disorders.

Ability to start and maintain IVs.

Previous experience in a pediatric children's hospital.

Description :

This role involves caring for patients aged newborn through seventeen.

It includes general medical / surgical duties such as respiratory, surgical, neurological, and infectious conditions.

The unit has 24 beds, with four designated for epilepsy video telemetry monitoring.

The unit experiences high admission rates, with daily visits ranging from 4 to 26.

Nursing staff will also care for patients in an eating disorder unit as well as traditional medical / surgical patients.

All staff members are registered nurses; no nursing assistants are utilized.

The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1 : 4 during both day and night shifts.

Weekend shifts are mandatory every other weekend.

There is a requirement to float to NICU and PICU with a provided orientation.

Modules related to the role may be required and will vary by specialty.

Submittals must include supervisor references within one year of employment.

Travelers may only request one holiday off.

All candidates must comply with the COVID-19 vaccine requirement and may apply for medical or religious exemptions.

This position demands critical experience, as travelers may comprise most of the staffing during night shifts.
