Telephone Operator

Saint Luke's Hospital and our Smithville Campus is seeking a Telephone Operator to join our team. You will have the opportunity to answer inbound calls to the switchboard and distribute the calls to the appropriate department or individual. This position handles all emergency events in a calm and efficient manner following the established process for the facility in which the emergency event occurs.

This position will work at dual campuses- Saint Luke's Hospital in Kansas City and Smithville.

Shift Details : Hours can be 8 : 00pm-6 : 00am or 7 : 00pm-5 : 00am

Responsibilities :

• Provides helpful information to internal and external callers
• Maintains detailed documentation in the appropriate communication logs
• Dispatches Security requests using two way radios in a timely manner
• Monitors alerts and alarms
• Notifies appropriate departments or individuals when required
• Assists with mentoring and training of new employees

We are looking for someone with exceptional interpersonal skills and empathy for those in crisis. The ideal candidate has strong critical thinking skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks at once, prioritize work, and manage interruptions easily. To be successful in this role, strong customer service skills, willingness to work, adaptability, and an eagerness to learn is required. This position will require you to work autonomously as well as with a team.
